NIGHTLY RATES

Please note that all our nightly rates above are in New Zealand Dollars and are quoted on single,double or twin occupancy on our self service basis.  Maid service is available daily except Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays and is available at a extra cost of $40NZD per maid service.  Maid service is carried out week days between 9am and 1pm.  

We have two lagoon view villas, one lagoon view villa with pool, one beachfront villa and three beachfront villas with pool 

Each villa has one bedroom, with a king-size bed however if you require an extra single bed, please be sure to let us know. The Beachfront with pool villas are single storey, and all of the others are 2-storey villas, with the bedroom upstairs on a loft floor.

Nearly all of our guests booking directly with us choose to self-service their villa and we also offer the option of daily servicing. With self service you are not required to do any major cleaning, and are not required to launder towels or linen. If you are on self service and looking after yourselves, to exchange your dirty sheets and towels for clean ones you can bring them up to the office during office hours Mon to Fri 9am to 1pm and we will happily exchange them for clean ones.  Come to the office building and ask any one of us during office hours and we would be happy to exchange your linen for you. Guests are asked to keep the villa moderately tidy, and sweep or vacuum out any sand that accumulates from the beach. If you need anything, come and see us at our on-site office and we are only too happy to help.

PAYMENT REQUIREMENTS;

Please note that when you confirm your booking you must provide your credit card details so that we are able to process your payment. We require 50% deposit payment at the time your booking is confirmed and the balance we require one month in advance of your arrival.  We will automatically charge your card for the deposit and balance when it is due. 

ADULTS ONLY RETREAT
As much as we love children or that we are parents/grandparents of little ones ourselves we are very sorry but Sokala is a adults only retreat.  We do not accommodate anyone under the age of 18yrs.  If you have young kids we are happy to recommend some family friendly places as there are many nearby but please note that Sokala is a adults only getaway.

Also if you are here on the island with families who have little ones themselves please note that children under the age of 18 are not allowed on the property so as to keep to our adults only retreat policy.

ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE
Our standard check-in time is from 2pm.
Our standard check out time is at 10am.

FLIGHT INFORMATION
Please provide all flight details to us in Cook Islands date and time. Flights travelling here from New Zealand and Australia will be crossing the International Date Line - New Zealand and Australia are one day ahead of the Cook Islands - so please advise us of flight numbers, flight arrival and departure times, and your dates of travel to ensure we have your booking details accurately noted. If any of your flights change, please ensure that we are advised of this. Sokala villas will not be held responsible should your flight be brought forward or changed to depart a later date and we are unable to accommodate you because you failed to advise Sokala of your flight change.

EARLY CHECK-IN/LATE CHECK OUT
Since our availability of early check in (ECI)  is dependent on other bookings, we may not know if ECI is available until two weeks before your arrival. Please check again on this two weeks before you arrive to see if this can be confirmed. For Late check outs (LCO) we cannot confirm a late check out until your arrival to Sokala Villas. If you wish to waitlist for a late check out please let us know however we will not be able to confirm late check out until your arrival to Sokala villas. Early check in from 6am and late check outs until 6pm (if available) is at half the nightly rate for all villa categories. Check in prior to 6am is only available by booking for  the previous night. Day room check out up to 6pm (when available) is at half the nightly tariff and after 6pm the full night tariff applies. If we are unable to confirm an ECI or LCO, we are happy to recommend an accommodation place close to the airport.

STANDARD CANCELLATION POLICY

- Cancellation of any bookings outside 60 days will incur no cancellation fees

- Cancellation of any bookings between 60-30 days prior to your arrival, you will be charged 50% of the full cost of your stay.

- Cancellation inside 30 days, no shows or failure to inform Sokala Villas of cancellation will incur 100% charge of accommodation booked.

- If you cancel 60+ days prior to your arrival date you can cancel free of charge

COVID-19 CANCELLATIONS/AMMENDMENTS

Our standard cancellation policy has not change within 60 days of arrival. We understand that you, like so many people around the world are a bit anxious about the fast changing travel regulations world wide. Things seem to change overnight and we are trying to keep on top of latest updates.

Should you need to cancel your booking with us due to the below reasons:

  • Government advice changes and advises against travel to the Cook Islands

  • The Cook Islands borders are closed

  • The Cook Islands is not accepting visitors from your country

  • The Cook Islands government requires mandatory quarantine, vaccination or testing restrictions/requirements for arrivals

  • Your visit is cut short as a direct result of COVID-19, such as a local lockdown in the Cook Islands, your home country or any country you need to transit through to get to the Cook Islands.

  • You contract COVID-19 and test positive after making a booking

  • Any quarantine rules change relating to your return

If you are not able to travel as a result of COVID-19 travel restrictions, we are happy to  amend your stay dates (subject to availability)  free of charge and no fees incurred for up to 2 years and will honour the same nightly rate offered to you at the time you booked your stay with us at Sokala Villas.

IMPORTANT:  Please do not consider any confirmed booking to be cancelled by Sokala Villas until you receive our written acknowledgement by return e-mail. This will remove the possibility of communication problems such as if your initial e-mail doesn't transmit successfully.

AIRPORT TRANSFERS
If requested we can arrange Ivor or Ronald of Doros Taxis for your airport transfers from/to international flights. Our guests are charged by Sokala the coach fare of NZ$40 per each way journey (1-2 persons) . On arrival at Sokala Villas, we are pleased to provide a complimentary bottle of bubbly, milk, cereals, fruit juice and a fruit basket for you.

PARTIES
Sokala is NOT a location for parties and noisy gatherings as this will disrupt other guests who have come here for a quiet getaway. If you're looking for a party central location, sorry Sokala is not it. Should you have guests who are here with you staying elsewhere on the island, we dont mind if they visit but please advise them to be considerate of our other guests and keep the noise level to a minimum while here - Thank you!

SPECIAL REQUESTS

When making your booking, if you have any special requests (like extra bed, surprise gift for your partner, grocery shopping, wine or beer pick up, anything really that you think you might like or need during your stay) then just let us know so that we can see if we can organize it for you.  If we are able to pick up for you or have available at the villas then you are most welcome to use.
